Job summary

MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) seeks a GIS/ CAD specialist with a bachelor’s degree and five years of experience to design, develop, customize, install and train CAD, GIS and database applications. The role emphasizes GPS and GIS mapping and coordination with MARTA’s AVL and scheduling systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, Cartography or related field.
At least five years designing and implementing CAD, GIS and database applications.
Strong GPS and GIS mapping knowledge required.

Responsibilities

Supports AVL route surveys to ensure route data integrity.
Supports route development in Fixed-Route scheduling system.
Geo-codes all time points, stops, routes and patterns.
Ensures geo data flows to AVL via interface with Scheduling.
Monitors enterprise geo-spatial data policies and standards.
Manages base map acquisition and maintenance across the Authority.
Represents MARTA externally on GIS issues.
Coordinates deployment of spatial applications with IT.
Performs installation and training for spatial IT projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
