Job summary

Vantor Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Full Stack Geospatial Developer to design, develop, test, and deliver web-based geospatial applications. You will build a map-authoring tool and integrate geospatial data, databases, and services.

The role spans front-end and back-end work, focusing on data schemas, coordinate reference systems, and metadata to support a robust geospatial data library. Onsite full-time is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Active security clearance required for consideration.
• Experience delivering full-stack web applications.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework.
• Back-end experience with Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Professional GIS experience and geospatial data handling.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS and Oracle Spatial.
• Familiarity with GIS formats (GeoJSON, Shapefile, GeoPackage, KML, etc.).
• Knowledge of coordinate reference systems and map projections.
• Ability to document technical work and communicate clearly.
• Ability to work independently and in Agile teams.
• Willingness to work onsite full time.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, deploy, and maintain a web-based map creation app.
• Build intuitive UIs to create, style, preview, save, and share maps.
• Develop front-end components for data loading, field selection, and symbology.
• Create back-end services, APIs, and data processing workflows.
• Integrate with geospatial data, databases, and enterprise services.
• Work with vector, raster, and service-based geospatial data.
• Advise on formats, schemas, CRS, metadata, and interfaces.
• Support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and QC.
• Work with spatial databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
• Ensure geometry, topology, metadata are preserved and valid.
• Implement and consume REST APIs and OGC services.
• Write tests and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Produce technical documentation for architecture and workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile activities.
• Apply secure software development practices.
