Job summary
Vantor Inc. is seeking a Geospatial Developer to design, build, and support high-impact geospatial applications, REST integrations, and data pipelines across our enterprise GIS environment.
This role bridges GIS development with business needs, translating functional requirements into scalable web applications, automated geoprocessing services, and advanced data collection tools. The ideal candidate brings deep ArcGIS expertise (ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder Developer
Qualifications
- Willing to work full-time onsite in Reston, VA
- Current/active TS/SCI security clearance and CI polygraph required
- 10 years of computer science, GIS, geography, or related field experience
- 2+ years with ArcGIS platform including ArcGIS Enterprise (Server, Portal)
- Proficient in Python and/or JavaScript (ArcGIS API for JavaScript)
- Experience developing and deploying web-based GIS applications
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise services
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS or similar spatial databases
- Understanding of spatial data types and coordinate systems
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Ability to build and troubleshoot data pipelines and ETL processes
- Experience with Git/version control
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain custom widgets and extensions using ArcGIS Experience Builder (Developer Edition) (React/TypeScript)
- Expose and optimize ArcGIS Server/Portal REST endpoints for external indexing and consumption
- Automate data preparation and backend tasks using ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python
- Engineer and maintain data layers, views, and back-end geodatabases to power dashboards
- Establish ETL routines for real-time or near-real-time synchronization
- Architect and implement ArcGIS Survey123 forms with advanced logic
- Migrate and govern content across ArcGIS Portals securely
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate workflows into technical specs
