Job summary

NV5 is seeking a motivated Field Technician to support utility infrastructure documentation and field data collection. You will collect geospatial imagery, asset data, and observations using reality capture tools and GIS platforms in outdoor field settings, often along rights-of-way and construction zones.

The role is entry-level to early-career, with opportunities for advancement in engineering, surveying, and project management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0–2 years of field operations or related experience.
• Ability to operate mobile devices and cloud apps.
• Strong data accuracy and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate scanning and reality capture equipment to collect utility asset and infrastructure data.
• Capture georeferenced imagery and field documentation for utility and civil projects.
• Perform field data collection along utility corridors, roadways, and construction sites.
• Verify asset locations and document field conditions using mobile apps and GIS platforms.
• Upload and organize project data in line with quality standards.
• Assist senior staff with investigations and site assessments.
• Record measurements, notes, photos, and observations during activities.
• Support data capture for asset inventory and mapping projects.
