Job summary

The New Mexico Department of Transportation's Survey & Lands Engineering (SLE) Division seeks an Engineering Technician to support measurement and mapping for highway projects. The role involves field surveys, data collection, and GIS support to establish project control and assist in design and construction.

Ideal candidates have experience with topographic and route surveying, Trimble GPS and Robotic Total Stations, and familiarity with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil-3D.

Qualifications

• Topographic and route surveying experience.
• Experience with survey data and GIS for mapping and design support.
• Ability to establish project control in field and office.

Responsibilities

• Establish controlled survey data using GPS or conventional surveying equipment.
• Utilize maps, plans, survey data, and GIS data to perform survey calculations.
• Ensure accuracy of survey data for mapping projects and design development.
• Plan and perform notes for GPS control networks to support design/construction.
