Job summary

The Department of City Planning (DCP) in New York City seeks a Director of Geographic Data Research to lead its geospatial data program within the Information Technology Division. You will oversee critical datasets, ensure data quality, and coordinate quarterly releases for Geosupport and open data applications.

Reporting to the CIO, you will drive data governance, collaborate with partner agencies, and mentor a team of GIS professionals to deliver high‑quality geographic research for city

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of managerial experience leading technical teams.
  • 6+ years of geographic research and CSCL/PAD maintenance preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; able to drive data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of geographic researchers to update geospatial data.
  • Set QA/QC standards for address, street centerline, and boundary changes.
  • Coordinate routine and ad‑hoc data releases with DOB, OTI, and other agencies.
  • Maintain PAD and CSCL data integrity for city operations.
  • Oversee data provisioning to Geosupport and Open Data Portal.
