Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Data Layer Engineer to design, implement, and optimize data transformation workflows for geospatial and non-geospatial datasets. The role focuses on ETL processes, schema management, and data governance within a DoD/IC context.

The ideal candidate will work with ESRI geospatial data, ArcGIS Enterprise, and cloud storage solutions while ensuring security policy compliance across PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, and NoSQL environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5+ years in data governance.
• Experience developing and managing data governance frameworks.
• Experience with metadata and data cataloging solutions.
• Knowledge of DoD/IC data security policies.
• Experience with listed data tools (Databricks Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, AWS Glue, Azure Purview).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize data transformation workflows.
• Perform ETL, data structuring, and schema management.
• Work with ESRI geospatial data layers and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Utilize PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases.
• Manage cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage).
• Support Kubernetes-hosted geospatial applications.
