Job summary

Google Maps Data Engineer role focuses on building and operating full-cycle data pipelines and geospatial data models to support Maps, Earth, Street View, and related services. You will help manage cloud infrastructure and geospatial platforms deployed within it to deliver accurate maps for billions of users.

The Geo team enables developers to leverage Google Maps platforms, solving complex data challenges, and delivering scalable, insightful data analytics and visualization capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience coding in one or more programming languages.
• 1 year of experience designing data pipelines and dimensional data modeling for sync/async system integration using internal/external stacks.
• Experience with data models via exploratory queries and scripts.
• Experience in GIS, Esri ArcGIS or FME for spatial data integration and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Implement business infrastructure to build and scale data frameworks for 3PDO Data Engineers and Operations team members.
• Partner with data providers/consumers to establish new data pipelines.
• Develop and maintain data models, pipelines, and exchange formats for geospatial data with guidance.
• Provide ongoing support for client users via reports, queries, dashboards.
• Collaborate to analyze root-causes of process errors and improve partner care via automation.
