Job summary

Esri is seeking a Technical Consultant, Enterprise Data Engineer to design and implement scalable geospatial data platforms supporting Defense and Intelligence operations.

You will work with customers to architect data solutions that integrate, manage, and optimize complex datasets across secure environments, ensuring high availability and data security. This role blends enterprise data engineering with geospatial technology and mission impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA.
• Fluency with data loading, backup/recovery, performance monitoring, and security.
• Scripting in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions to support mission-critical applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during all phases of implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment.
• Configure and maintain database environments, including backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies (e.g., query optimization, indexing).
• Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance across environments.
• Automate routine database loading, maintenance, and monitoring tasks to improve efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices for database design, migration, and integration projects.
