Job summary

Geotemps, Inc. is seeking a GIS/Database Technician to organize, georeference, and QA/QC thousands of exploration reports, drill logs, data tables, and maps. The role includes coordinating shipments of materials to scan and managing digital/physical storage.

Required experience in mining archives and familiarity with ArcGIS tools (ArcPro/ArcMap), QGIS, and Google Earth Pro; a geosciences background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Mining industry experience (1+ year).
• Experience with archives.
• Knowledge of Porphyry copper deposits and exploration activities; strong cartography; ability to catalog mixed materials.
• Experience with mapping software: ArcPro, ArcMap, QGIS, Google Earth Pro.

Responsibilities

• Scan, organize, and catalog Exploration archives; manage KOHA catalog and SharePoint.
• Search technical data using KOHA, FileTrail, and Port of Tucson Archive Library; digitize requests.
• Georeference and publish scanned maps with metadata using ArcPro.
• Communicate with clients; coordinate material shipments and storage logistics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
