Job summary

HNTB in Tallahassee, FL, is seeking a senior data engineer to lead the development of complex data engineering solutions and drive the strategic use of data across the organization. You will collaborate with stakeholders to shape data strategy and ensure quality in solution delivery.

You will mentor junior engineers, define technical approaches, and build scalable, cloud-based pipelines while partnering with data scientists and analysts to optimize workflows and establish best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field, with years of related experience.
• 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree can be considered.
• Experience in data engineering and related domains is required.

Responsibilities

• Leads the design and implementation of advanced data pipelines and architectures.
• Defines project scope, technical approach, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develops scalable solutions using cloud-based tools and distributed computing platforms.
• Monitors pipeline performance and ensures reliability in production environments.
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborates with data scientists and analysts to optimize data workflows.
• Contributes to the development of best practices and reusable assets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
