Job summary

CDOT's Office of Transportation Analytics seeks a Geographic Applications Specialist to collect, enter and analyze tabular and geographic data for roadway inventory, mapping and planning.

You will use ESRI ArcGIS, MS Access and SQL Server to create GIS data sets for HUTF and HPMS reporting, and coordinate with local governments to obtain inventories and master plans.

The role supports WebHUT, requires strong customer service and the ability to explain roadway information to customers.

Qualifications

  • Six years of GIS/geospatial experience including developing and maintaining geographic databases and mapping applications.
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS software is required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret and enter data from plats, GIS layers, aerial photos and CAD files for roadway inventory and planning analysis.
  • Utilize ArcGIS, MS Access, SQL Server and related tools.
  • Create and maintain geographic and tabular information using CDOT’s linear referencing system.
  • Develop GIS datasets for HUTF and HPMS reporting and for highway inventory and planning.
  • Coordinate with local government planners and CDOT staff to acquire inventories and master plans.
  • Provide highway and local roadway information to customers by data extraction.
