Job summary

NC State University’s Center for Geospatial Analytics seeks an Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor to build and deliver geospatial analytics courses. The role emphasizes foundational GIS concepts, open-source and cloud-based platforms, WebGIS, GeoAI, and data science applications, with a commitment to innovative geospatial pedagogy and student success.

This is a 9‑month, non-tenure track, full‑time faculty position with a three-year initial contract and opportunities for renewal.

Qualifications

• PhD in GIS or Geospatial Analytics or related field with university teaching experience.
• Experience delivering GIS courses and developing curricula.
• Proficiency with GIS software and open-source tools.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in geospatial analytics.
• Develop and update courses reflecting current methods and tools.
• Advise MGIST students and participate in service and committees.
