Job summary

University of South Carolina in Columbia seeks a Geospatial Analyst to design and maintain web GIS applications, manage authoritative datasets, and support ArcGIS workflows campus-wide.

You will develop Python automation with ArcPy, ensure data governance, deliver maps and dashboards for operations, planning, and safety, and collaborate with IT and academic units. This is a full-time position with potential for hybrid work and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 1+ year of relevant experience.
• Experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
• Proficiency in Python scripts using ArcPy and ArcGIS API for Python.
• Ability to develop maps, dashboards, and spatial analyses for operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain web GIS applications and services using ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards, Field Maps, Survey123, StoryMaps, and related tools.
• Coordinate with university IT and system administrators on ArcGIS Enterprise operations, including system configuration, upgrades, authentication, security, performance, backups, and integration with other enterprise systems.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, design user-centered GIS solutions, and deliver web maps, dashboards, mobile applications, and data services that support campus operations, planning, emergency management, facilities, and research.
• Develop, maintain, and document Python scripts and automated workflows using ArcPy, the ArcGIS API for Python, SQL, and related tools.
• Maintain, update, and improve authoritative spatial datasets in the university’s enterprise geodatabase and hosted GIS environments.
