United Utility Services is seeking a Field Survey Data Processing Analyst to join the Transmission & Distribution Engineering group. You will process and manage survey data, ensure data integrity, and support AI-driven analytics to enhance efficiency and accuracy in survey workflows.

You will collaborate with field teams, handle LiDAR, imagery, GPR, and GIS data, and contribute to asset condition assessments and data integration initiatives across internal and external systems.

Qualifications

About The Role

The Field Survey Data Processing Analyst is a vital member of United Utility's Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering group. This role is pivotal in processing, managing, and overseeing the integrity of all survey data. The Analyst ensures the efficiency and accuracy of data processing operations, supports field teams with critical data insights, and ensures seamless integration of field data into our operational workflows. Additionally, AI/Machine Learning training and understanding will be a key component of this role, as the Analyst will assist in developing, refining, and implementing AI-driven data analysis processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation in survey data management.

Key Responsibilities
  • LiDAR Data Processing:Handle the conversion and processing of LiDAR data into LAS files, ensuring high standards of accuracy and quality. Optimize workflows for processing data to enhance project turnaround times.
  • AI Training & Implementation:Work alongside AI specialists to train and refine AI models used for defect detection, automated data processing, and predictive analytics in survey workflows. Assist in evaluating AI-driven solutions for improving data classification, automation, and reporting.
  • Field Imagery Quality Assurance:Oversee the sorting and quality control of all field imagery, certifying data accuracy and reliability.
  • Condition Assessment Reports:Lead the preparation and finalization of detailed condition assessment reports, integrating various data sources to provide comprehensive insights.
  • Thermal Imagery Data Management:Manage and organize thermal imagery data, ensuring efficient retrieval and analysis capabilities.
  • GPR Report Creation:Develop and compile detailed reports from ground-penetrating radar (GPR) data, analyzing subsurface findings to assist in decision-making processes for engineering and construction projects.
  • Operational Scheduling Support:Coordinate with field service managers to schedule survey operations, enhancing the efficiency and timeliness of field activities.
  • Fleet Management Assistance:Oversee fleet logistics, including maintenance scheduling and tracking, to ensure operational readiness and efficiency.
  • GIS Data Management:Maintain and update GIS datasets for field and office use, ensuring high data integrity and applicability in collaboration with GIS specialists.
  • Survey Equipment Inventory Control:Manage the inventory of all survey equipment, including drones and terrestrial survey tools, to guarantee availability and operational maintenance.
  • Administrative Support:Provide administrative support to the Superintendent of Field Services, including document management, meeting coordination, and other clerical duties.
  • Data Integration and Innovation:Assist in initiatives to integrate survey data with other company (internal and external) databases and systems, brainstorming new innovations to elevate the department’s offerings.
Key Qualifications
  • Education:
  • Associate degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Geography, Data Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in LiDAR data processing and familiarity with LAS file formats.
  • Proficient in managing and assessing the quality of field imagery.
  • Skilled in GIS applications and integrating data between various program formats.
  • AI & Data Analytics:
  • Understanding of AI concepts, machine learning applications, and data processing automation.
  • Experience with AI-based image classification, predictive analytics, or automation tools is a plus.
  • Operational Management:
  • Experience with operational scheduling and fleet management.
  • Proficient in survey equipment inventory management.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Strong capability with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and other relevant software.
  • Experience with data integration tools and platforms; understanding of API usage for system integration.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven data processing tools or cloud-based AI platforms is a plus.
  • Communication:
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; experience in client-facing roles.
