Job summary

RBC is seeking a geoscience professional in Houston to provide technical support for A&D project execution and business development. You will analyze subsurface data, generate maps and petrophysical analyses for pitches and data rooms, and present results to clients and investment bankers.

The role emphasizes reserves/evaluation with onshore US experience and strong software proficiency (Petra, Petrel, Geographix, ArcGIS, Spotfire, Excel, Access).

Qualifications

• MS Geology/Earth Science degree required; MBA preferred.
• 5-7 years petroleum geology experience; energy investment banking or A&D in exploration/production is a plus.
• Experience focused in onshore US lower 48; familiarity with Permian, Bakken, Eagle Ford, Anadarko, Haynesville, Appalachia.
• Reserves and evaluation focus; operational exposure highly desired.
• Proficiency with Petra, Petrel, Geographix, Spotfire, ArcGIS, Excel, Access; Kingdom/ARIES a plus.
• Experience with Enverus/IHS public datasets; cash flow and economics understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide geoscience technical support for A&D project execution and business development.
• Generate cross-sections, subsurface maps, petrophysical analyses for pitch books and data rooms.
• Present results of subsurface analyses to clients and investment bankers.
• Escalate operational risks and control deficiencies to management.
• Review firm policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with clients and bankers on confidential evaluations.
