Job summary

WSP in the New York metropolitan area seeks an Assistant Survey Project Manager to join our Geomatics Department, with offices in Valhalla, NY and New York, NY. This full-time role supports management, coordinates field crews, and delivers accurate survey deliverables.

You will work with diverse projects across transportation, environmental, commercial, industrial, institutional, and energy sectors, using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Leica Infinity, and MS Office while mentoring junior staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics or related field with 3–4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s degree with 4–6 years, or 6+ years of land surveying experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in both field and office surveying.
• Experience with drafting and survey data processing programs.
• Boundary research, compilations, and determinations; control adjustments under guidance of a PLS.
• Willingness to learn and teach others; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support management in overseeing projects from start to finish and guide field staff, survey technicians, and CAD drafters.
• Collaborate with staff from our survey teams throughout the New York Metro Region.
• Oversee production of survey plans and other deliverables; assist with scheduling and setting up field crews; QA/QC reviews and report preparation.
• Process and review survey data; make boundary determinations and adjustments with guidance by a PLS; mentor new staff.
• Work on a variety of projects across transportation, environmental, commercial, industrial, institutional, and energy sectors.
• Interact with clients via email, phone, or meetings and represent WSP professionally.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required and adhere to safety policies.
