Job summary

WSP USA invites applications for a Geology Intern – Summer 2027 to support the Earth & Environment team at Oakland, CA or Rancho Cordova, CA. This 12-week internship is for undergraduates, starting May 17, 2027, with flexible start date.

Interns will assist with field work, data analysis, and reporting while gaining exposure to real projects and mentorship through our Developing Professionals Network. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Geology, Environmental Science, or related undergraduate program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field and desire to develop skills for WSP’s projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to complete projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic geology and environmental science principles.
• Assist with project research, field work, data analysis, and reporting.
• Help collect and maintain project documentation.
• Assist in preparing project drawings and maps.
• Complete assigned task training and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
