Job summary

Rio Tinto Exploration in Salt Lake City is offering a 3‑month Geology/Exploration Internship designed to give hands‑on experience alongside experienced geologists on active mineral projects across the United States. You will access industry datasets and technologies while developing practical skills for a geoscience career.

You will participate in field mapping, core logging, sampling, and data analysis, gaining exposure to a global mining company culture and the potential to join our Graduate

Qualifications

• At least one year completed in Geology/Geoscience degree program
• Genuine interest in mineral exploration and a desire to learn
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Initiative and willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks
• Adaptability and a positive attitude in field and office environments
• Commitment to safety and responsible work practices
• To be eligible, registered student at a recognized American university, right to work full-time in the United States, valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Field geologic mapping, core logging, sampling and data analysis
• Geologic modelling and handling exploration datasets across US projects
• Support exploration teams in greenfields projects across the United States
