Job summary

GFT is seeking a Geologist to join our Geotechnical, Dams and Hydraulics team in Roseville, CA or Oakland, CA. The role supports investigations to characterize geologic conditions and identify factors impacting design and long-term performance of engineered structures.

You will help with field reconnaissance, boring logging, geologic modeling, and preparing technical reports, including rockfall mitigation and seismic considerations. Hyrbid work, with client coordination and project reporting.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Geology or related discipline.
• Current PG license in California.
• MS degree in Geology preferred.
• Experience in engineering geology projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geologic investigations to characterize geologic/geotechnical conditions for engineered structures.
• Prepare field reconnaissance, logging, sampling, and geologic models.
• Develop technical reports with figures and tables.
• Assist with budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with clients and team members; support business development efforts.
