Job summary

Fervo Energy seeks a Geologist to support wellfield design, planning, and execution across its geothermal portfolio. You will contribute to subsurface characterization, geologic modeling, and operational decisions during drilling, completion, and testing.

We expect collaboration with senior geologists, reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and field teams, integrating diverse data to refine models and support field operations. The role offers hybrid work with field travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of geothermal/subsurface experience.
• Experience with Petrel or similar software.
• Experience supporting drilling or wellsite operations.
• Ability to interpret logs and seismic data.
• Willingness to travel to field sites during drilling/testing.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of geothermal drilling and completion campaigns with real-time geological input.
• Develop and QC development plans, well paths, and geologic prognoses.
• Plan and supervise mudlogging, logging, sampling, and wellsite geology activities.
• Support short- and long-term flow tests for resource confirmation and early production testing.
• Integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to build 3D models.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, drilling, and completions teams.
• Prepare technical summaries and presentations for internal reviews.
• Travel to field sites as required (western U.S.).
