Job description

GIS Interns for East Kentucky Power Cooperative Power Delivery Maintenance will embark on an internship that will provide students the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills gained from the classroom in a hands‑on, professional environment. Applicant shall apply Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques to develop internal and external reports. In addition, they will be responsible for (GIS) updates, and integrating geospatial data from the field to existing GIS datasets. Works with other departments to assist with the management and interpretation of various source materials such as maps and engineering drawings. Potential interns will work under direct supervision of Senior GIS Analyst and IT staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Knowledge of ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, Esri web-based applications, and Esri mobile applications.
• Knowledge of editing within ArcGIS Pro.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Ability to analyze assigned problems, gather and organize data, and arrive at valid conclusions.
• Ability to work well with others and possess strong communication/customer service skills.
