The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for the ARL:UT Geodesy GRA at the Pickle Research Campus. This position supports the Space and Geophysics Laboratory with graduate assistance and research, open to all applicants.

Responsibilities include developing GNSS and VLBI algorithms and software, participating in field experiments with GNSS SDR and a 25-meter VLBA telescope, and creating position and timing solutions from sequential GNSS observations.

Formación

• Pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Geodesy, or related field.
• Current UT Austin graduate student enrolled in at least 9 credit hours during the long semester and 3 credit hours in the summer.
• Research interest in radio astronomy, VLBI, GNSS, geodesy, or related field.
• Experience in programming in object-oriented languages (C++ or Python).
• Overall GPA of at least 3.0 is expected.
• US Citizen.
• Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.

Responsabilidades

• Develop algorithms and software in GNSS and VLBI to advance space geodesy.
• Participate in field experiments collecting and analyzing data from a GNSS SDR and a 25-meter VLBA telescope.
• Help develop software for position and timing solutions from sequential GNSS observations.
• Other related functions as assigned.
