Job summary

Woolpert, a global leader in architecture, engineering, and geospatial services, seeks a GeoBase Regional Support Team Analyst to work on site at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. You will support Air Force GIS installations, manage enterprise geodatabases, and produce installation and vicinity maps.

You will collaborate with GeoBase staff, apply SDSFIE standards, perform QA/QC, and use ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, Portal for ArcGIS, and AGOL.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of geospatial experience
• Active security clearance or ability to pass Tier 1 Investigation
• Background check and drug screening required
• Extensive knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software and capabilities
• 2 years ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) or Pro experience
• 2 years Portal for ArcGIS or AGOL experience

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Air Force GIS data in a multi-user geodatabase
• Produce installation, range, and vicinity maps using cartographic techniques
• Perform GIS data QA/QC to meet DoD standards
• Coordinate data updates with DAF installations and personnel
• Assist end users with GIS requirements, issues, and training
• Record processes in Jira/Confluence for project visibility
• Maintain GeoBase knowledge base and SOPs
• Coordinate GIS data submissions to stakeholders and partners
• Create/maintain installation metadata and geospatial data workflows
• Integrate imagery, lidar, and field data into GeoBase
• Migrate legacy data to GeoBase standards

Woolpert is hiring a GeoBase Regional Support Team Analyst to work on site at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) in San Antonio, Texas. This is an on-site role with a schedule of 4 days working at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) on Lackland AFB and 1 day working remotely.

The GeoBase Analyst will be part of a dynamic fast-paced team supporting United States Department of the Air Force (DAF) installations for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) GeoBase program. Analyst will support installations worldwide, utilizing Esri ArcGIS desktop and enterprise solutions to meet installation and GeoBase program geospatial requirements in coordination with GeoBase Service Desk managers.

What You Will Do:

As a GeoBase Regional Support Team Analyst (Geospatial Specialist II) at Woolpert, you will:

• Create and maintain Air Force Civil Engineering GIS data in an enterprise environment, managing a versioned, multi-user geodatabase
• Create, update, and produce a variety of installation, range, and vicinity maps, drawings, plans, and other graphic representations using cartographic techniques to represent spatial data
• Perform data quality assurance and control, ensuring compliance with Air Force and Department of Defense geospatial data standards
• Perform regular and frequent data updates in coordination with analysts or government personnel located at DAF installations and other locations
• Work closely with end users in the Air Force installation GeoBase offices and other base organizations to support GIS requirements, technical issues, and training needs such as data stewardship, ArcGIS applications, SDSFIE data model, enterprise capabilities, and GeoBase program objectives
• Utilize the GeoBase Agile framework to enable task visibility and project transparency to AFCEC client:
• Use Agile platform (Jira, Confluence) to record all processes and tasks, and manage all projects
• Maintain detailed continuity folders and AF GeoBase Knowledge Base, documenting current installation-specific workflows, Standard Operating Procedures, and GeoBase program functional processes to ensure sustained and reliable operations
• Coordinate and execute GIS data submissions and requests to authorized stakeholders and mission partners, including disaster response and emergency mapping and analysis support
• Create and maintain installation and AF enterprise geospatial metadata
• Perform complex GIS data analysis, extraction (digitization), and geocoding processes
• Integrate geospatial imagery, lidar, survey, and field collected data into the GeoBase enterprise
• Migrate or convert legacy GIS, CAD, non-spatial, and tabular data to GeoBase standards
• Analyze current processes and recommend improvements or other best practice solutions
• Maintain data for archival storage, record keeping, and inventory of source data and maps
• Work with GeoBase Portal content managers and technical teams to create or improve data and geoprocessing services for enterprise availability to all system users

What You Will Bring:

• Two (2) to four (4) years of geospatial experience
• Active Tier 1 Investigation (National Agency Check and Inquiries NACI), security clearance, or the ability to pass a Tier 1 Investigation
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug screening
• Extensive knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software and capabilities:
• Two (2) years of experience using ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) or ArcGIS Pro
• Two (2) years ofexperience using Portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online (AGOL)
• Two (2) years of experience in a role requiring:
• Excellent problem-solving and consulting skills with emphasis on client and team member engagement
• Strong technical proficiency using Microsoft Office products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for our dynamic working environment
• Attention to detail and proven experience meeting data quality assurance and accuracy standards
• Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and as a member of a large organization
• Ability to offer constructive feedback and problem solving, as well as clear direction to support goals
• The following experience is favored:
• Experience with the DAF GeoBase program
• Experience with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) GIS data standard, or other defined spatial data model
• Proficiency using ArcGIS Pro Attribute Rules or Data Reviewer extension
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcSDE, or ArcGIS Server
• Experience with GIS databases, CAD software, GPS field data collection, or surveying
• Proficiency in processing and using geospatial imagery and lidar data
• Experience with Agile project management methodology using Atlassian or similar platforms
• Experience with DoW geospatial data and systems
