Job summary

Terradyne Engineering seeks a geotechnical lab technician to analyze soil, rock, and groundwater samples from field investigations. You will support lab operations, run standard tests, and ensure data quality.

This position is based in Carrollton, TX, requiring attention to detail, safety discipline, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Training and certifications are supported by the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Geology background preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
• Excellent time management and safety adherence.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures.
• Understanding QC importance in a laboratory.
• Self-starter with a reliable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Communicating test status and results to Lab Supervisor/Dept Manager.
• Organizing and prioritizing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Adhering to deadlines and peak-time flexibility.
• Promoting a safe work environment and maintaining a clean area.
• Assisting with proficiency testing as required.
• Reporting issues to supervisor/manager.

Job Summary

As a geotechnical lab technician, you will be playing a critical role in analyzing soil, rocks, and groundwater samples collected from field investigations.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities

• Communicating test status and results to Lab Supervisor and/or Department Manager
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
• Adhering to deadlines
• Ability to be flexible during peak times
• Promoting a safe work environment and maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Assisting with AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) proficiency testing as required
• Great attention to detail is required
• Reporting any issues to the supervisor/manager
• Any other task requested by the supervisor/ manager

Job Skills & Requirements

• Love and enjoy working indoors.
• Geology background preferred but it I not required.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Always adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures
• Understanding the importance of QC (Quality Control) in the laboratory.
• Must be a self-starter, reliable, and come with a good and humble attitude

• Strong teamwork, communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel.
• Basic Math knowledge.
• Industry certifications preferred:
• ACI Strength
• ACI Aggregate
• SB101
• SB102
• Clean MVR, background, and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Available to work long hours and weekends
• Tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager
