Role Overview

As the GEnx Cold Section Design Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and substantiation of repairs for HPC components, focusing initially on cold airfoils. This role involves technical improvements, project management, and execution within the GEnx team, with some autonomy and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize interdisciplinary repairs and develop design substantiation for the HPC module.
• Manage multiple projects across commodities, organizing complex repair requirements from substantiation to industrialization.
• Understand business implications of repair yield, project timelines, and feasibility.
• Coordinate with repair, shop, and MCRB teams on project status and priorities.
• Adapt to different hardware substantiation needs and learn analytical tools.
• Execute design, analysis, or evaluation of projects following engineering principles and standards.
• Develop technical expertise and use experience to execute strategies.
• Understand key business drivers and how team work integrates with other areas.
• Propose solutions with guidance, solve straightforward tasks, and utilize internal resources for decision-making.
• Provide informal guidance to new team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• At least three years of experience in Design Engineering.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship provided).
• Onsite/Hybrid work model; remote work not available.

Preferred Characteristics

• Strong communication skills.
• Problem analysis and resolution abilities.
• Program documentation and execution skills.
• Project management experience.
• Background in turbomachinery design engineering.
