Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Product Compliance Engineer to lead safety and regulatory compliance for generator set products across the United States and Canada. This role interfaces with engineering, quality, and operations to ensure certifications are obtained and maintained.

Your responsibilities include coordinating with UL/CSA and other bodies, guiding product development, and implementing robust compliance processes to support market access and ongoing regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or electronics engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in product compliance, certification, regulatory engineering, or related technical roles.
• Experience with generator sets or power generation equipment preferred.
• Experience with UL and CSA certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure generator set products comply with U.S. and Canadian regulatory, certification, and industry standards.
• Lead compliance efforts through product lifecycle including development and sustaining engineering.
• Serve as liaison with certification agencies such as UL and CSA.
• Coordinate certifications, audits, testing activities, and corrective actions.
• Review designs and changes for compliance impact and provide guidance to teams.
• Develop and implement compliance testing strategies and governance processes.
• Travel to labs and facilities to support testing and certification evaluations.
• Monitor evolving regulations and maintain up-to-date compliance documentation.
