Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Product Compliance Engineer to lead regulatory, safety, and industry certification efforts for generator-set products across the U.S. and Canada.

You will partner with engineering, quality, operations, sales, and external agencies to ensure timely certifications and ongoing compliance through the product lifecycle. Travel to labs is required as part of testing and validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Power Generation or related field.
• 5+ years in product compliance, certification, or regulatory engineering.
• Experience with generator sets or power generation equipment.
• Experience collaborating with UL and CSA certification bodies.
• Experience managing third-party testing and certification projects.
• Understanding North American product safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure US/Canada regulatory and industry standards conformance.
• Lead lifecycle compliance across development, changes, sustaining engineering.
• Liaise with UL, CSA, and other regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate certifications, audits, testing, and corrective actions.
• Review designs and changes for compliance impact.
• Provide guidance to engineering, quality, operations, sales, and service.
• Manage certification docs and test reports.
• Develop testing and validation strategies with internal and external labs.
• Travel to labs to support testing and certifications.
• Monitor evolving regulations and standards.
• Support investigations of compliance issues.
• Improve compliance processes and training.
