Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Research and Development Specialist II for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 1am-10am) in Ankeny, IA. You will drive genotyping workflows, operate automated lab systems, and help resolve technical challenges while ensuring safety and compliance.

A strong background in biology or related field and experience with data analysis are required. You will work with cross-functional teams to design experiments, validate methods, and maintain rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master's degree in biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or life science field.
• Experience with high-throughput lab automation and data analysis tools.
• Ability to design experiments, troubleshoot equipment, and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily and weekly genotyping objectives with high-quality data.
• Operate high-throughput lab automation technologies and perform maintenance.
• Collaborate across platforms to support end-to-end genotyping workflows.
• Solve technical challenges and improve lab workflow efficiency.
• Design and conduct experiments; validate methods using multiple data sources.
• Maintain records and ensure safety and compliance in all activities.
• Provide training and coordinate tasks within a large team.
