Job summary

Syngenta seeks a Data Generation Team Lead for the Malta Genotyping lab in the United States. You will oversee a team of lab technicians performing library preparation, PCR, and sequencing, while driving process improvements and cost reductions.

You will mentor staff, coordinate RT-PCR, high-throughput PCR, and NGS workflows, and partner with cross-regional teams to ensure data quality and timely delivery of results, applying data analytics to inform decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Biology, Genetics or related field required.
• Solid understanding of basic laboratory procedures and equipment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without work sponsorship.
• 5+ years in a professional laboratory, with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn experiments background and participate in meetings.
• Train and support lab technicians.
• Coordinate RealTime PCR, high-throughput PCR, NGS library preparation and sequencing.
• Perform people management of Data Generation team including feedback and annual reviews.
• Develop team professionally with skill development guidance.
• Lead continuous improvement to increase capacity, reduce costs.
• Collaborate across regions to analyze data quality issues.
• Support implementation of new platforms and workflows (automation).
• Drive change management for new technologies and processes.
• Use dashboards and data analytics for decision-making.
• Monitor KPIs and operational metrics for continuous improvement.
• Data-driven problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Translate operational data into actionable insights.
