Job summary

MaxCyte, Inc. in Waltham, MA, is seeking a Scientist to support research, development, and lab operations within the Gene Editing Sciences team. You will contribute to genomic safety assay development, validation, and data generation in a regulated environment.

The role includes optimizing workflows, performing mammalian cell culture and CRISPR editing, and collaborating with internal teams and clients to advance CRISPR therapies.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in molecular biology, genomics, or related field, with 0–2 years of relevant research experience; or B.S./M.S with 4–6 years.
• Experience in genomics techniques including NGS and gene editing off-target methodologies.
• Proficiency with primer design, PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, and nucleic acid purification.
• Experience with primary human cell culture and in vitro study design including cell sorting and imaging.

Responsibilities

• Execute genomic safety assessment strategies for gene editing therapeutics and analyze data.
• Lead development, optimization, validation, transfer, and implementation of genomic safety assays.
• Interpret and present data to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Maintain current knowledge of gene editing, sequencing technologies, and regulatory expectations.
• Maintain mammalian cell culture and perform CRISPR-based editing.
