Job summary

Texas A&M University, through Texas A&M AgriLife Genomics and Bioinformatics Service, seeks a Research Associate to execute high-throughput NGS library preparation, QC, and data handling in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate automated liquid handlers and sequencing platforms, manage samples in LIMS, and produce precise client reports while maintaining SOPs and biosafety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Genetics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a relevant scientific field.
• Two years of experience performing high-throughput NGS library preparation and quality control.
• Experience with automated liquid handling systems.
• Knowledge of lab safety protocols and SOPs.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced lab.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-throughput NGS workflows: library prep and QC.
• Operate automation: liquid handlers and sequencing platforms.
• Manage sample intake and log steps in LIMS.
• Generate client reports from experimental results.
• Maintain SOPs and biosafety compliance.
• Perform related laboratory and administrative tasks.
