Job summary

Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Research Assistant to assist with laboratory responsibilities including genome sequencing to screen enrolled infants for many genetic conditions.

The role supports integration of first-tier genetic analysis into newborn screening and assessment of benefits and risks. The incumbent will process dried blood spot specimens, verify enrollment, and help maintain standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field and one year of related experience.
• A Master's degree in a related field may substitute one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory responsibilities including genome sequencing to screen enrolled infants for ~800 genetic conditions.
• Process dried blood spot specimens and verify infant enrollment.
• Maintain laboratory standard operating procedures and assist team in research activities.
• Support the Wadsworth Center’s mission within NYSDOH to protect and promote health.
