Job summary

Duke University’s David Lab seeks a Laboratory Research Analyst II to analyze genomic data and translate findings into high-quality manuscripts and reports. The role emphasizes scientific writing, data interpretation, and collaboration with the Principal Investigator.

The analyst will plan studies, interpret results, stay current with literature, and mentor junior staff while ensuring biospecimen compliance and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life-science or quantitative field plus four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in technical and scientific writing; a writing sample is strongly encouraged.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting research data with a background in genomics, the gut microbiome, or nutrition preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory findings for publication and progress reports, including reviewing raw data and contributing to figures.
• Draft and edit technical writing describing the lab's research and assist with preparing manuscripts for publication.
• Independently evaluate and interpret research data, and prepare progress reports and analyses.
