Job summary

Illumina seeks a Sr. Staff Product Manager to lead platform-level development and launch execution for sequencing systems. You will drive end-to-end workflow solutions, align R&D, operations and Commercial teams, and champion market-driven product requirements.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in next-gen sequencing, proven PM leadership, and a track record of successful capital equipment launches, with strong public speaking and strategic thinking abilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with next-generation sequencing technologies (SBS, etc.).
• Proven product management experience across the full product development lifecycle for a major product line.
• Track record of successful commercial launches of new products.
• Strong public speaking and executive-level presentation skills.
• Experience developing system requirements with both hardware and software inputs.
• Ability to translate market needs into design inputs through data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary PM for novel system-level product development across end-to-end workflow.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Commercial to ensure end-to-end system delivery.
• Define product requirements based on customer/market needs and business goals.
• Serve as product champion within cross-functional teams and guide early-phase to post-launch decisions.
• Develop business cases and sales forecasts for new product requirements and pricing.
• Partner with Commercial teams to establish go-to-market and launch strategies.
• Create launch collateral with Product Marketing and support market development efforts.
