Job summary

The Landau Lab at the New York Genome Center/Weill Cornell Medicine is seeking a motivated experimental scientist to join an interdisciplinary team studying somatic evolution, cancer genomics, and epigenomics.

The role involves wet-lab workflows for next-generation sequencing, single-cell genomics, and functional genomics, with collaboration across clinicians, computational biologists, and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related life science discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in molecular biology labs.
  • Experience with nucleic acid handling, PCR, purification.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to follow established protocols and troubleshoot.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Motivation to learn new genomic technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform molecular biology workflows for DNA and RNA sequencing.
  • Process cultured cells, primary specimens, tissues and suspensions.
  • Perform single-cell and multi-omic workflows including scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq.
  • Contribute to development and scaling of new methods for single-cell genomics and cfDNA.
  • Assist with high-throughput and automated workflows.
  • Collaborate with experimental and computational researchers to plan studies.
  • Maintain detailed records in ELNs and databases.
  • Communicate progress and issues in project meetings.
  • Maintain lab organization, reagents and safety practices.
  • Support multiple projects.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
