Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is seeking a Molecular Biology SME to help build foundational AI models by designing DNA/RNA constructs and evaluating training data quality.

You will collaborate with research and engineering teams to design domain-specific tasks (PCR primers, plasmids, gRNA, mRNA constructs) and draft clear ground-truth solutions, ensuring rigorous biological reasoning throughout model training.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in molecular biology or related field.
• Hands-on experience designing nucleic acid constructs (primers, plasmids, vectors, gRNA, mRNA, HDR).
• Strong publication record, first-author in Nature and related journals; include links.
• Ability to commit at least 20 hours per week on weekdays.
• Experience in AI training, model evaluation, or data annotation is a plus.
• Clear career progression.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with research and engineering to identify where molecular biology reasoning breaks down in models.
• Design hard, domain-relevant tasks and write accurate ground-truth solutions (PCR primers, plasmids, gRNA, mRNA constructs, HDR templates).
• Review tasks and model outputs and provide feedback on correctness and biological reasoning.
• Write guidelines and rubrics for sequence design quality (guide/target selection, homology arms, primer Tm, codon optimization, regulatory elements).
• Coordinate with other SMEs to maintain data consistency.
