Job summary

ATCC, a global nonprofit that provides trusted biological materials to science and health, invites applications for a Senior Manager, Genome Portal Engineering.

You will lead modernization and long-term evolution of the Genome Portal and related digital biology platforms, within the Sequencing & Bioinformatics Center in Gaithersburg, MD, providing technical leadership for a cloud-based data products platform used by scientists and researchers.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design, development, and support of scalable software platforms.
• Proven ability to guide engineering execution and cross-functional collaboration.
• Preferred: genomic data platforms, bioinformatics, or life sciences experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of the Genome Portal and related platforms.
• Oversee sprint planning, direction, code reviews, release readiness.
• Guide architecture, APIs, data integrations with enterprise systems.
• Drive UX and UI components for scientific users.
• Coordinate external partners and stakeholders.
• Ensure platform reliability, security, and cost management.
