Job summary

Vylor, Inc. is seeking an Associate Investigator to join the Genome Editing Molecular Characterization team in Johnston, Iowa. This lab-based role emphasizes CRISPR tool development, molecular assays, and high-throughput data processing.

The candidate will develop reliable qPCR, digital PCR, and amplicon-based NGS assays, mentor staff, and drive technology development with minimal supervision, ensuring safe operations and rigorous data records.

Qualifications

Requires MSc in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Science, Plant Genetics, or related field with 2+ years in a molecular biology lab; or bachelor’s with 8–10+ years experience.
Experience with genome editing applications and molecular characterization of edited events; troubleshooting skills required.
Proficiency in DNA/RNA isolation, NGS, PCR, qPCR, and digital PCR preferred.
Experience in high-throughput data science analysis using Python or R.

Responsibilities

Develop and validate qPCR, digital PCR, and amplicon-based NGS assays for gene-edited events at high throughput.
Participate in technology development and process improvement studies with experimental plans and data analysis.
Mentor and train research associates and interns on molecular workflows and analysis methods.
Provide technical support and conduct experiments with a collaborative team spirit.
