Job summary

Vylor is seeking an Associate Investigator in Johnston, IA to advance CRISPR genome editing assays and data-driven development within the Genome Editing Molecular Characterization team. The role is lab-based with significant data analysis and pipeline automation responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Molecular Biology or related field with 2+ years in a molecular lab, or substantial industry experience.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Science, Plant Genetics, or related disciplines with 2+ years in a molecular biology or diagnostic lab, or Bachelor’s with substantial relevant experience.
• Experience with genome editing applications and molecular characterization of edited events, with troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in nucleic acid applications: DNA/RNA isolation, NGS, PCR, qPCR, digital PCR.
• High-throughput data analysis in Python and/or R for data manipulation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate qPCR, digital PCR, and amplicon-based NGS assays for gene edited events at high throughput.
• Contribute to new technology development and process improvement through experiments, data collection, and analysis.
• Mentor and train research associates and interns; serve as a technical resource.
• Provide technical support and conduct experiments with collaborative teamwork.
