Job summary

AcuFast seeks an Assistant Genetic Farm Manager to support Tell City, IN barn operations alongside the Genetic Farm Manager. The role is hands-on, coordinating daily activities, executing the genetic program, and ensuring consistency and performance across the unit.

The successful candidate will lead day-to-day tasks, train staff on SOPs and GWI practices, monitor biosecurity, and help improve productivity, animal welfare, and data integrity in breeding records.

Qualifications

• 3+ years sow farm experience, preferably in a genetic nucleus or multiplier setting.
• Experience leading and motivating teams.
• Strong understanding of swine production and genetics principles.
• Excellent interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of genetic work instructions and ensure alignment with established genetic targets.
• Work alongside the team in daily barn operations, supporting productivity and consistency in execution.
• Assist the Farm Manager in coordinating daily activities and team priorities.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance on SOPs, and Genetic Work Instructions (GWI).
• Support a positive and respectful team environment and data integrity in breeding records.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, biosecurity, and animal welfare standards.
