Qualifications

• Master’s degree in genetic counseling required.
• Current NJ license required on hire; PA license within 3 months.
• AHA BLS certification required; non-licensed must obtain before orientation.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and analyze personal and family medical histories and document activities.
• Educate patients on risk, testing options, and reproductive choices.
• Discuss risks/benefits of tests and referral options.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and present cases in conferences.
• Provide bereavement support and communicate outcomes to providers.
• Lead in problem solving, adapt to change, and mentor students.
• Attend cancer genetics conferences and maintain board certification.
