Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a Genetic Counselor to counsel patients at risk for hereditary cancer and to serve as a clinical resource for patients and physicians at Swedish First Hill.

The ideal candidate holds an ABGC-approved master's in genetic counseling and will be licensed as a Washington Genetic Counselor upon hire. Experience with cancer risk assessment, test interpretation, and psychosocial support is preferred.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree from a genetic counseling training program approved by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
• Upon hire: Washington Genetic Counselor License
• Well rounded experience dealing with genetic disorders including: cancer risk assessment; ordering and interpreting genetic test results; and providing psychosocial assessment and support

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year experience working with patients at risk for hereditary cancer
