Job summary

Loftin Equipment Co. seeks a Generator Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on power generation equipment, conduct startup testing, and prepare written estimates for recommended repairs. This role supports service and parts sales within the department.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with generator systems, tools, and safety practices, with the ability to travel as required and respond to emergency calls 24/7.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in generator engineering, electrical technology, or related field often preferred.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools for electrical work.
• Knowledge of generator systems: diesel, gas, standby.
• Licensing: driver’s license plus electrical contractor license or generator technician cert.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot power generation equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and load bank testing.
• Perform startup commissioning on new equipment.
• Assist customers and dealers with technical support in person or in the field.
• Document all work and repairs thoroughly following procedures.
