Job summary

Bay City Electric Works in Reno, NV is seeking an experienced Level 2 or 3 Generator Technician to repair, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial generators. You will diagnose electrical problems, perform engine repairs, and start-up new units, coordinating with Project Management to ensure smooth handoffs.

This non-exempt, hourly role offers overtime, a daytime schedule, and opportunities for on-call work.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with generators of various sizes, with emphasis on 500KW+ units.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and maintenance manuals.
• Commitment to safety procedures and environmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to BCEW customers.
• Perform engine repairs and electrical troubleshooting; diagnose problems using schematics.
• Service generators of all sizes, including start-up and load testing.
• Coordinate with Project Management for smooth hand-offs of new units.
• Document tests and findings from inspections for customers.
