Job summary

GenServe, a leading generator service provider, seeks a skilled Power Generator Technician for our Fremont, CA branch. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, load bank tests, and repairs on diesel, natural gas, and propane generators for commercial clients.

You’ll read wiring diagrams, document work, and participate in ongoing training to advance toward higher technician levels. On-call duties and travel to customer sites are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repair on standby generator systems.
• Independently diagnose faults using diagnostic tools and documentation.
• Troubleshoot engine and generator components including batteries, starters, and control panels.
• Complete load bank testing and inspections for performance.
• Maintain accurate service records and parts usage in company systems.
• Support Gen Tech 1’s and participate in training to grow skills.
• Join rotating on-call schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
