F.H. Furr Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, & Electrical is seeking a Generator Technician to install, diagnose, maintain, and repair residential standby generator systems in the Virginia/Maryland/Delaware/Washington, D.C. region.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting, and a passion for keeping homeowners powered reliably. This role offers competitive pay and benefits and requires a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Generator Technician or related field service professional.
• Experience with residential standby generators and service installation/repair.
• Strong commitment to delivering an outstanding homeowner experience.

Responsibilities

• Install residential standby generator systems per specs, codes, and standards.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on generators.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, fuel, and operational issues.
• Conduct startup, commissioning, and performance testing on new installs.
• Educate homeowners on operation, maintenance, and service options.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Generator Technician, Generator Installer, Electrical Technician, or related field service professional
• Proven expertise in installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing residential standby generators
• Strong commitment to delivering an outstanding homeowner experience
• Effective communication skills and ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally to homeowners
• Valid Driver’s License A valid driver's license is required for this role. Company policy requires that all drivers be at least 21 years old.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install residential standby generator systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, testing, and repairs on residential generator systems
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, fuel system, and operational issues
• Conduct startup, commissioning, and performance testing of newly installed equipment
• Educate homeowners on generator operation, maintenance requirements, and available service options
