Power Plus is seeking a Generator Service Technician in Detroit, MI to inspect, maintain, troubleshoot and test generator systems from 5 kW to 4000 kW while delivering best-in-class service to customers. Applicants should have diesel generator experience, strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and the ability to read manuals and schematics; willingness to work varied shifts and on-call rotations is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of diesel generator experience.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with generator knowledge.
• Technical schooling in automotive or related fields.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and work varied shifts.
• OSHA-compliant heavy equipment operation experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose and test generator systems 5kW–4000kW.
• Interact with customers and complete paperwork accurately.
• Read and apply technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Generator Service Technician Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and test 5kw - 4000kw generator systems
• Interact with customers
• Correctly fill out paperwork
• Read and apply technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics

Requirements

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience in mechanical and electrical fields, particularly with diesel generators.
• Technical schooling, automotive or transportation fields, commercial, residential electric and or like military experience a plus
• Willingness to learn and use new technologies.
• Available to work various shifts, weekend, holidays and on-call pager rotations with occasional out of town travel/overnight stays.
• Able to safely operate heavy equipment, forklifts, and mobile cranes accordance to OSHA regulations.
• Certified Journeyman Electrician a plus but not required.

Total Estimated Compensation: $81,880.00 - $101,900.00
