Job summary

Power Plus is seeking a Generator Service Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair and test diesel generators from 5 kW to 4000 kW. You will interact with customers, document work, and apply technical manuals and schematics in a fast-paced, warranty-driven environment.

This Detroit-based role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, willingness to travel occasionally, and capability to work varying shifts including weekends and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Diesel generator experience preferred, 5 kW to 4000 kW range.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with related technical schooling.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
• Certified Journeyman Electrician a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and test generator systems 5 kW–4000 kW.
• Interact with customers.
• Correctly fill out paperwork.
• Read and apply technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Generator Service Technician Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and test 5kw – 4000kw generator systems
• Interact with customers
• Correctly fill out paperwork
• Read and apply technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics

REQUIREMENTS:

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience in mechanical and electrical fields, particularly with diesel generators.
• Technical schooling, automotive or transportation fields, commercial, residential electric and or like military experience a plus
• Willingness to learn and use new technologies.
• Available to work various shifts, weekend, holidays and on-call pager rotations with occasional out of town travel/overnight stays.
• Able to safely operate heavy equipment, forklifts, and mobile cranes accordance to OSHA regulations.
• Certified Journeyman Electrician a plus but not required.

Total Estimated Compensation: $81,880.00 - $101,900.00
