General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Welder, Fabricator, and Painter to perform welding, fabrication, and painting on military and commercial generator systems. The role includes fabricating custom panels, repairing generator housings, applying CARC coatings, and preparing components for coatings.

The position supports overhaul, modification, and readiness operations, with emphasis on welding, panel fabrication, and painting to meet military and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of welding/fabrication experience.
• US citizenship required.
• Certifications: None.

Responsabilités

• Performs MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on generator housings, frames, and structural components.
• Fabricates custom metal panels, access covers, and reinforcements from raw stock.
• Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and fabrication schematics.
• Conducts structural repair including crack removal, reinforcement, and metal surface restoration.
• Prepares surfaces for coating using sanding, grinding, chemical cleaning, or abrasive blasting.
• Applies primers, corrosion inhibitors, and CARC coatings to generator components.
• Ensures paint application meets thickness, curing, environmental, and quality standards.
• Supports generator modifications through custom-fabricated brackets and mounting points.
